Shamanism is the most ancient spiritual practice known to humankind.

Many anthropologists believe that the practice dates back over 100,000 years.   

The word “shaman” comes from the Tungus tribe in Siberia and it means spiritual healer or one who sees in the dark. Shamanism has been practiced in Siberia, Asia, Europe, Africa, Australia, Greenland, and native North and South America. 

Through rattling or drumming the Shamanic Practitioner will enter into a trance state, traveling to what is referred to as "non-ordinary reality." They will meet and communicate with helping spirits, ancestors, power animals, ascended masters, and nature beings. Through this direct communication the shamanic practitioner will work to receive messages and healing for the client, using many different healing modalities.   

Shamanism is not a religion, and there is no dogma or hierarchy. Shamanism supports everyone's ability to directly communicate with the spirit world and sovereignty over their physical and spiritual bodies.  Core Shamanism consists of the universal features of shamanism and are not bound to any specific cultural group or region.
